1. About Village

Village Australia (“Village”, “we”, “us”) operates an online marketplace at villageapp.au that connects families seeking local help with community members offering their skills and services. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Village. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

3. How Village works

Village is a marketplace platform. We connect families (“Families”) with service providers (“Providers”) but are not a party to any service agreement between them. Village does not employ Providers or guarantee the quality of any service.

All payments are processed through Village to ensure security and accountability. Providers receive payment after a service is completed, minus the applicable platform fee.

4. Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your account credentials secure
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring your profile and listings are accurate and up to date
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or profiles
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
  • Arrange payments outside the Village platform to avoid fees
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Share another user's personal information without their consent
  • Attempt to manipulate reviews or ratings

6. Payments and fees

All transactions on Village are processed through our secure payment system. Village charges a platform fee on each completed booking. Fees are displayed clearly before you confirm a booking.

Refunds are handled in accordance with our cancellation policy. Village reserves the right to withhold payment in cases of reported misconduct pending investigation.

7. Cancellations

Cancellation policies are set by individual Providers and displayed on their listings. Families should review the cancellation policy before booking. Village may facilitate refunds at its discretion in exceptional circumstances.

8. Limitation of liability

Village is a marketplace platform and is not responsible for the actions, conduct, or services of any user. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Village's liability in connection with any booking or interaction is limited to the amount paid through our platform for that booking.

9. Termination

Village may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these terms or for any conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
