Your safety is our priority

Village is built on trust. We take safety seriously — from how we verify members to how we handle payments. Here's how we protect you, and how you can protect yourself.

How Village protects you

Verified accounts

Every Village member signs up with a verified email address. We use Clerk, a trusted identity platform, to manage authentication securely.

Secure payments

All payments on Village are processed through Stripe, a globally trusted payment provider. Your card details are never stored on our servers. Payments are only released to providers after a service is completed.

Community reviews

After every booking, both families and providers can leave honest reviews. This creates accountability and helps the community make informed decisions.

Reporting and moderation

Every profile and listing can be reported. Our team reviews all reports and will remove any user who violates our community guidelines.

Safety tips for members

Chat before you commit

Always message a provider through Village before booking. Ask questions, share expectations, and trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is.

Pay only through Village

Never pay cash or transfer money outside the platform. All Village payments are secure, and keeping transactions on-platform protects both families and providers.

Meet in a public place first

For longer or ongoing arrangements, we recommend a casual first meeting in a public place — a café or park — before inviting someone into your home.

Report anything suspicious

If a user asks you to pay outside the platform, sends inappropriate messages, or makes you uncomfortable in any way, report them immediately using the flag button on their profile.

In an emergency

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. For non-urgent police matters, call 131 444. Village is not a crisis service — please contact the appropriate authorities if you need urgent help.
